What do I need to buy to use my Sony PSP online?

I have a Sony PSP and a PC with broadband. I don't have a wireless network and don't know what I need to buy to get one or even how to set it up. I've heard I need a wireless network card on my PC for it to work, how do I find out if I already have one on my PC?

You can either get a wireless router or a wireless adapter like the WiFi Max. To find out if you are puting out a wireless signal using your PSP go to settings, then network settings, then infrastructure mode. Select New Connection the hit scan (make sure your wlan switch is turned on. If no access points are detected you don't have a wireless network card. Some games allow online play through infrastructure mode which is just like online play on your PC. Others offer AdHoc mode which is with people around the same area. Alot of the games with multiplayer do offer some form of both. No one really knows what the infrared port is for since AdHoc and infrastucture modes both need the wifi switch turned on.
